Ok guys here is the deal for this.
My guard unit is planning on either using paintball things or airsoft rifles. My Lt. was talking to me and I made the comment of having some of you guys play as OpFor. This way everyone would be able to go through the training and the unit would get the most out of it.
We are planning on having this training during our April drill. So we have some time to get things together and planned as well.
The other thing that we may need would be if people have spare rifles and mags that some of the guys could use. I have a few emails in with different companies to see if we can't rent a few rifles so the unit can use them. But if people are willing to let us use their rifle, I will hold a class with the guys to make sure they know how to use them and will keep them from getting broken.
I am not sure what will happen if anything were to get broken. My Lt. is talking to the highers now to see what can be done in that instance, but everything will be done to try to avoid that. So just be aware that there always is that possibility that something could happen to the rifle.
Just putting it out there for as many people as we can get.

This sounds pretty interesting!

I know this is still a ways out there, in terms of planning. But if I can get a somewhat solid number of people that are willing to help out and their ages that would be great. I am unsure if there will be an age requirement being as it will be a force on force style of training.
I am not sure if this is going to be on both Saturday and Sunday, or if it will just be on Saturday. If it is both days you may need to get a hotel room for the night as well as meals. If there is the possibility I will see what I can't do about trying to get you guys some meals as well while we are out in the field ( though it will probably be just an MRE )
The more info I get from you guys now the better chance I have of getting you guys to be able to get out there and have some fun.

Potentially interested, though I would need a hard date to commit as I have other events in April.
How many members of your unit will you need to arm at a time? How many OpFor are wanted and what kind of scenarios are you considering? Depending on the timing and ground conditions, I have a number of landmines and other devices that I could contribute too.
I might be willing to contribute some weapons, but not without a clear understanding of how to handle issues. That could be as simple as a straight rental fee or reimbursement in the event of damage. I would also insist on either providing ammunition for use in my own weapons or approving that which was going to be used. A bulk purchase of high-quality BBs would probably be a good idea so people can swap magazines and such without worry.
Is there electricity available at this property? We could conceivably get enough weapons, but not enough batteries or not enough when they start getting depleted.

That would be great Rekkon. I will get some more info when I am able. The drill dates in April are the 12-14, so it would most likely be the Saturday ( 13th ) that this would be held. There would not be power, but there is of course at the hotel and in the armory itself. As far as ammo I am 100% on board with that as well. I am getting together a cost sheet to let the unit know what it may cost and all of that. Along with that my Lt. is going to ask about a class that I, and a few of the OpFor, can give to make sure that everyone is aware of how the weapons work and how to use them properly. Along with that he is also making sure that they will be covered if anything were to happen to them. What we would be doing as far as missions would go would more than likely be a round robin type of time. Where one group would go through and area and get messed with by the OpFor, be that with small arms fire, RPG's , mines, or civilians. Those things will all change the day of the training and what the leadership wants to train on. I can see us going to a crap load of ammo depending on what happens. One thing for those that are wanting to be OpFor to remember is this..... you are more than likely going to get the crap shot out of you over and over again. If this is not something you want done, then please please don't come. I don't want someone to get upset and leave because they were over shot. You need to remember that this is actual training for us going overseas, so it is going to possibly be high tempo and very violent in the way of action. That is not meaning that there will be physical contact, but people will move quick and shoot just as fast with just about a constant amount of bb's coming towards the person. If I could get a round about count of who would be willing to show up and weapons they could bring that would help with getting you guys there.

If proper considerations can be reached, I would be willing to loan out my M16A4 w/ M203 and M249. I of course have plenty of other weapons, but I am assuming you would prefer to operate with current issue as much as possible.
I have a dozen M80TR landmines. Using these would depend on ground conditions, and I would need 1-2 hours to emplace them all. After that I have several inert props, as well as various sonic booby traps that are tripline/pressure activated. And of course the mortar. Use of this would also depend on the terrain as I am unwilling to shell dense woods/brush/grass due to rocket loss. It has a 100-150 meter range, can do 10-15 rounds a minute and fire 50+ rounds on my air supply. It is accurate enough to preregister, though it lacks aiming devices, so preregistering is limited to one. Rocket and various grenade launchers...

I can't thank you enough for that offer Rekkon.
I am getting things all put together and making sure that everything is as close to correct as I can before I submit it to my leadership.
I am sure they would prefer the M16/M4 style of rifles, but will check to make sure as training is still training.

Ultimately it will depend on when the April MOA WWII event is scheduled. I will ping the organizer, but I might not know for another month or three.

Ok, no worries Rekkon. If you are able to make it that would be great, as the numbers would be good. But for the rest of the company not to know how many guys will be there is good as well

I would not mind helping with weapons and OpFor. I got an M4 and saw. Could maybe come up with 2 more M4's. I might be able to get some of the guys I know to come with me.
